And it begins...

After walking into the Rio on Wednesday night, we were informed that our schedules had changed. LoL, thanks a lot for that...they had given us the weekly schedule during orientation which I then gave to my other job (Treasure Island) and now they go and change it? Anyways, I edited my previous blogging to fit my new schedule for the upcoming week. I've got 9 shifts in the next 4.5 days.

I think I am ready to start...Action began the other night at the WSOP with satellites. I went in and met up with 2 of my friends, Dustin and Matt. We each dealt one single-table satellite and called it a night since the action was slow. I'm still recovering from Wednesday night where several people went out which ended with 1/2NL poker at Hooter's...but not until 5pm the next day! NechitaCC, Cougars4444, and myself played lagtard poker until we couldn't stand it any longer. We all got bug-eyed when our bill ended up being $525!

If I come across a camera, I know that some pics of the action will make this whole blogging routine a better one. Until then, I think I am gonna lounge out back by the pool, possibly even do some swimming, and then rest up for a sick work schedule which begins at 2am.

Sattys begin tonight over at the Rio

The satellites for the 2008 WSOP officially started today. I don't expect it to be very busy though because I doubt many people are even aware that they have begun. Plus, the flow of donks into town starts over the next couple of days. Ca$h games and Event #1 begin this Friday, May 30th. I'll be dealing the satellites tonight on swing shift but I don't expect to have too much to report. If it is slow and I can early out, I'll be hitting up Dragonfly with the crew which will consist of at least Clay 'Daddy G', BeL0W, gboro, MikeB, NechitaCC, Cougars4444, macleod51 and quite possibly Aaron 'GambleAB' Bartley. What a bunch of rock stars!

I did get this gross schedule for the week though:

May 28th: Treasure Island, 2am-?. WSOP (satellites), 8pm-4am.
May 29th: OFF
May 30th: OFF
May 31st: Treasure Island, 2am-?. WSOP (ca$h games), 7pm-3am.
June 1st: Treasure Island, 2am-?. WSOP (ca$h games), 6:30pm-2:30am.
June 2nd: Treasure Island, 2am-?. WSOP (donkaments), 6:30pm-2:30am.
June 3rd: Treasure Island, 2am-?. WSOP (donkaments), 4pm-12am.
June 4th: Treasure Island, 2am-?.
June 5th: WSOP (satellites), 4pm.

You may notice the schedule overlapping, but that just means I have to get over to TI as quickly as possible after I get out of the Series (which has been OK'ed) -- considering I work the full 8 hour shift at WSOP.

Now, I've never tried any sort of amphetamine - I have never done coke...hell, I rarely even touch caffeine...but I think I have come up with a reasonable solution. What might that be?



Crack.


Too easy. Think about it. I can instantly develop an addiction to crack cocaine. It is easy to find, too. I can get it on the way to dealing each shift as my route to work brings me right past Twain and Swenson (aka Crackville)...so it will be EZ game to pick up my fix before and after each shift. That's the solution right there, folks. Become a major crackhead, but only for the summer so I can get through all of these shifts. Wouldn't you agree that this is a brilliant idea?

Introduction, purpose, and reasoning for this blog

Oh hi! The idea to create this blog was just suggested to me by my friend Shaun (Cougars4444), so let's first give props to him. He's coming out for the World Series of Poker (as are a number of new aquaintences and friends are this year) and will be starting a blog on his Vegas summer experience as a player. His thought was that it would be a good idea for me to start a blog since I'll be dealing the 2008 World Series of Poker. Many people will be blogging and discussing their experiences as players, so I'll give some insight as to what dealing the Series is like.

I'll also include other stories which will prove to be worth the read. When you know people such as Clay (LVPokerDealer) Gongora, MichaelB, Chris (NechitaCC), Mike (macleod51) Macleod, Kevin (BeLoWaB0Ve) Saul, Steve (gboro780) Gross, Dan (Wretchy) Martin, Chaz, Shaun (Cougars4444), Eric (ess286), Greg (Sicktight311), just to name a few....and will be partying with them over the course of the summer....you're definitely subject to some crazy stories.

I deal poker at 2 different places on the Strip. In addition to dealing the Series, I'll also be dealing at one of my regular jobs. This is the poker room at Treasure Island and it is the best job I have ever had aside from writing bail bonds which I am currently in the process of getting licensed for out here. I've had many people ask me about dealing poker and after reading my blog over the next 6 weeks, many of those that have contacted me will get a better idea as to what it is like to deal on a daily basis.

That's all for now...I'll be dealing tonight at TI from 2am until ? and then starting over at the Series dealing satellites tomorrow night from 8pm-3am and then straight back to TI until the games die out.
